History
The EMbaffle® technology was developed by Shell Global Solutions International B.V. (SGSI) in the Netherlands to address heat exchanger fouling issues, as well as energy consumption and emission reduction. SGSI filed its first patents in 2004.
Following successful full-scale manufacturing and field trials in operating plants in Europe and USA over a three-year period, EMbaffle B.V. was established in March 2007 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shell Technology Ventures Fund 1.
EMbaffle® technology has now been licensed to heat exchanger manufacturers who design, sell and manufacture the EMbaffle® heat exchangers.
A significant number of EMbaffle® heat exchangers are now in operation across a wide range of applications in refining, petrochemical and solar power plants around the world.
